Why we made it

Some tabs are only for now

Not every open tab is a keeper. Sometimes you are in the middle of a piece of work, a shopping comparison, a research rabbit hole or a plan for tomorrow. You want to close your browser without losing your place, but you do not want to turn every tab into a permanent bookmark either.

We made Cap Snapshot for that in between moment. Save the tabs you have open in one click, give the session a name if you want to and come back when you are ready. It is a simple way to put your browser away for now without throwing away where you were.

See it in action

What it helps with

Save in one click

Capture every open tab as one snapshot before the browser turns into a bigger job.

Organize sessions

Keep separate snapshots for the bits of life that deserve their own pile.

Restore when ready

Bring back a whole session or only the tabs that still matter.

Tidy saved tabs

Rename a session and remove the links that no longer belong there.

Keep a backup

Save snapshots to a file whenever you want a copy for later.

The difference

Save the session, not every link forever

Bookmarks are for things you know you will want again. Cap Snapshot is for the collection of tabs that only matters while you are in the middle of something. Save the whole group, close down and restore it when the time is right.

It is especially useful when you have too much open and cannot face deciding what deserves a bookmark. Take a snapshot, clear the tabs and let tomorrow's you pick it up from there.

Keep sessions together

One click saves the tabs you have open

Capture a work session, a shopping comparison or the particularly deep research rabbit hole in front of you. Give it a name if that helps, then close the browser with a clear conscience.

Come back on your terms

Restore every tab, or only the useful ones

Open a whole snapshot when you are ready to pick up where you left off. You can also expand it, choose individual tabs and restore only the part that still matters.

Keep a copy

Back up the sessions worth keeping

Save your snapshots to a file and restore them later. It is a simple bit of reassurance for the browsing sessions you would rather not rebuild from memory.

Questions people might have

A few useful answers

How do I save all my Chrome tabs for later?

Open Cap Snapshot and create a snapshot. It saves the tabs you currently have open as one named session, ready to restore when you come back to it.

Can I restore just some of the tabs in a saved session?

Yes. Expand a saved snapshot, select the tabs you still need and restore those without reopening the whole collection.

Does Cap Snapshot replace Chrome bookmarks?

No. Bookmarks are still the right place for links you expect to return to regularly. Cap Snapshot is for temporary groups of tabs that belong together while a task is still in progress.

Can I back up my saved tab sessions?

Yes. The extension includes backup and restore options, so you can save your snapshots to a file and bring them back later.
